Walk Across the Musou Tsuribashi Bridge

Conquer your fear of heights, or just your fear of falling off a cliff, by walking across this very dangerous suspension bridge. Located in the remote wilderness of the Southern Japanese Alps, this bridge built sometime in the 1950’s is held together mostly by wire and narrow strips of wood. The bridge crosses a canyon between two mountains, and is not very well maintained because of it’s remoteness. Just reaching the bridge is a task, with a hike that includes using metal chains to hold onto because the path is too steep. Test your mettle and your nerves by crossing this bridge, then boast about it to your friends.

Participate in La Tomatina

If you’ve ever experienced a food fight in a school cafeteria, you know how fun throwing food around with reckless abandon can be. Now add 20,000 people and you’ve got the La Tomatina tomato fight. Every year on the last Wednesday of August the Spanish town of Buñol hosts the worlds largest tomato fight. People from all over the world hurl tomatoes at each other, trucks, photographers, and anything else that moves, for about an hour. The streets run red with tomato juice then everyone hugs and heads down to the river to clean off the mess. Why do they do this? The more appropriate question is, “Why not”?

Drive across Vitim River Bridge, Siberia, Russia

This bridge is known as one of the scariest and most dangerous in the world. It is an old railway crossing built entirely of wood a mere 50 feet above the water. The bridge is only wide enough for one car, has no railing and is iced over for much of the year. With the weathering of the wood and the length (1870 ft), it will take you over 3 minutes to cross if you are really pushing it. Stare death in the face and laugh, then thank God you made it across the bridge.
